During weekdays Museum Village is open for school and tour groups by reservation, from 10 am - 2 pm.

Summer Hours July 5 - August 31
On weekdays the museum is open for self-guided tours from 11:00am-4:00pm.
Not all the buildings will be open. Admission is $3.00. Children
under 4 are free at all times. During the weekends the museum is open 11:00am-4:00pm
for self-guided tours. Costumed tours occur at noon and 2pm for the
buildings that are otherwise not open; make a candle, learn about the log
cabin and the one-room schoolhouse. Admission will be $5.00.

ACCESSIBILITY
The buildings and grounds that create our 19th century atmosphere may present barriers for visitors with disabilities.

Museum Village is located on Route 17M in Monroe, New York near the Intersection of two major highways - Route 17 (soon to be Interstate 86) and Interstate 87 (the New York State thruway).

From New York City:
Musem Village is located only 50 miles north of the George Washington Bridge.
By Bus:
Coach Bus Lines offers direct service from Port Authority to Monroe Park & Ride, right next to the Museum. Click here http://www.coachusa.com/shortline/ for schedule and fare information.
By Car:
Take the NYS Thruway north to Exit 16 (Harriman, Route 17). Take Route 17 west 4 miles to exit 129 (Museum Village Road). Follow signs to Museum entrance.
From Connecticut:
Take I-84 West to Exit 4, Route 17 East. Take Exit 129 off Route 17 East and follow signs for the Museum.
From New Jersey:
Take I-287 North to NYS Thruway (87) North to Exit 16, to Route 17 West. Take Exit 129 off Route 17 West and follow signs for the Museum.
Or take the NJ Garden State Parkway to the NYS Thruway (87) and follow as above.
From Pennsylvania:
Take I-84 east to Route 17 east Take exit 129 off Route 17 and follow signs for the Museum.
For the Safety and Comfort of All:
- Smoking is not permitted in any of the buildings or on the Museum grounds.
- Pets are not allowed on Museum grounds. Certified service dogs are welcome.
- No eating, drinking, or gum chewing is permitted in the buildings.
- Please do not touch or feed the livestock.

Photography/Videotaping
Photography at Museum Village is permitted for personal use only (please, no tripods). Please do not interrupt an ongoing activity.
Activities that result in the creation of images from Museum Village for use in commercial and press photography,
commercial artwork and other activities of the like are prohibited without prior approval from the Museum.
During your visit, authorized photographers or video graphers from the Museum may record your image to be used for publicity purposes
Food Service
For your convenience, Museum Village offers a snack bar with a variety of choices. We offer quick, lunchtime fare with a selection of soft drinks, snacks, ice cream and coffee.
Indoor and outdoor picnic tables are available for our guests to enjoy their refreshments.
