Museum Village received a donation of a copy of a 17th century Dutch house from local craftsman, Jerome Dally. Mr. Dally constructed the home using traditional methods of mortise and tennon joinery and wooden pegs. The house was put on an existing foundation at the Museum. Jerome Dally, Danny Dally, Paul Preuss, Jr., Joan Fedor, Kathleen Braun, and Sandra Huber came to assist with the construction. The exact use of the building has not yet been determined but it will greatly enhance the interpretation and visitor experience to the Museum.
We are improving and expanding this season after reaching an all time high in school group attendance. The photos show the reconstruction of an old cabin with period materials. We have not yet decided the new use for this structure. Watch this space for updates on our progress. If you would like to assist us we are always looking for volunteers.
